Alf Garnett - The
BBC's much beloved bald-headed and bigotted 'old git' character who first
appeared in 'Till Death Do Us Part' followed by 'In Sickness And In
Health' and many other spin-offs including 'A Word With Alf' and 'The
Thoughts Of Chairman Alf'. The program idea was also exported to the US in
the form of 'Archie Bunker'.
Played by actor - Warren Mitchell, born 1926,(a life-long Spurs fan!!) Alf
frequently extolled the Hammers virtues to his Liverpool loving 'scouse
git' son-in-law played by Anthony Booth (Prime Minister Tony Blaire's
father-in-law). Warren Mitchell has appeared in many, many character roles
from 1957 to the current time.
Ray Winstone - Actor, Born 19 February 1957 in Hackney Hospital, London,
Ex-amateur boxer, appearances in many film & TV dramas and TV comedy
series including 'Scum' (Carlin); 'Quadrophenia' (Kevin); 'Fox' (Kenny
Fox); 'Get Back' (Martin Sweet); 'Nil By Mouth' (Ray); 'Our Boy' (Woody);
'Births, Marriages & Deaths' (Alan) and many more, including appearances
in: 'The Bill', 'The Sweeney', 'Bergerac' and 'Boon'. Ray's TV offering

Nick Berry - Actor, born in Woodford, 1963, appearances include: 'Box Of

Rowan); 'Harbour Lights' (Lt Comm Mike Nicholls) and 'In Deep' (Liam
Ketman).
David Essex - Singer/Actor, born Plaistow, 23rd July 1947, appearances
include: 'That'll Be The Day' and 'Stardust' (Jim McLaine); 'Silver Dream

Steve Harris - Born 12th March 1956 in Leytonstone, of rock group - Iron
Maiden - probably the best ever New Wave Heavy Metal band in the world.
Originally formed in West Ham in the late 1970s and started out by
performing in local east-end pubs, later members of the group line-up were
however non 'locals' and on certain tours they had appeared wearing West
Ham strip at gigs.
Richard Digance - Comedian, writer, songwriter, and poet, plus regular TV
appearances on Countdown. Born in Plaistow, 24th February 1949. attended
Thomas Lethaby School, East Ham and then dropped out of Reid Kerr College
in Glasgow returning to East Ham Tech to take English Lit and Modern
History. Links with Yeovil Town FC but West Ham was his original 'home'
club.
Todd Carty - Actor. Though brought up in Kilburn he was born in County
Meath, Ireland, 31st August 1963 and as far as internations are concerned
supports Ireland, very well known on TV and film with appearances in
'Grange Hill' and 'Tucker's Luck' (Tucker), Krull (Oswyn), EastEnders
(Mark Fowler #2) and The Bill.
Leslie Grantham -Actor, Camberwell 1947. Convicted of murder whilst in the
army. appearances include: 'Dr. Who' (Kiston in Resurrection Of The Daleks
episode); 'East Enders' ('Dirty' Den Watts); 'The Paradise Club' (Danny
Kane); and 'The Uninvited' (CS Gates).
Lennox Lewis - Boxer, born West Ham, September 2nd 1965, Undisputed World
